Harmony in the Measures

For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. - Romans 12:3

I've been given a measure, a portion, an allotment of faith from the Lord. I cannot boast of the faith given to me. Any good that I do in this life - in singing, in ministry, in writing - is simply a product of the portion of faith I've been given. It would be foolish to think highly of myself because I was given of gift by my Heavenly Father.

There's another way I could think too highly of myself; I can become jealous of another's allotment of faith or grace, because I feel that I should have received their gift. I can become discontent with my faith measure.

The goal of this blog is to share some of the life lessons I've learned or are learning, and to share how I find peace and harmony in the chaos of life. Other than the sacred Scriptures, the most powerful influence on my spirit is music. You'll see the strains of beautiful songs all throughout the articles in this blog. I hope the lyrics bless you as they have blessed me. May you find harmony in your life's measures.   - Lynn
